While I was there they had 3 installations happening simultaneously and another boat being detailed. These guys are busy and definitely burn the midnight oil. "Our customers bring us their boat on a Thursday and want to be out on the water Friday afternoon. That means we have zero time to waste," says Dennis, the owner Liquid Trends NorthBay.

Nice to see the XM7's laying the smack down on high performance
boats. This set up went onto a 2009 Malibu VLX sporting double 7's on
the illusion XS tower. Pretty nice how they bolt right into XS tower
system and still retain the ability to swivel front to back and not
bump into each other. That's an industry first my friends!

Exile Banshee takes 1st place at Dune Fest

Congratulations to the guys at Sounds Unlimited on the 1st place trophy at 2009 Dune Fest Winchester. This custom Banshee competed in the full custom 2 stroke class and won hands down. "He called me right after he won the trophy and said the judges couldn't believe the overall attention to detail and originality of the stereo installation," said Rick Vanway owner of Sounds Unlimited.

Yes its official, the BIG18 has made its way to the streets. Tonight we received this real world report from Greg at Audio Connections; Salinas California. He is pretty damn satisfied with 157.2db in his customers '00 4door Blazer. The owner is headed for a local competition event on Sunday. We'll let you know how he does. Something tells me he's a shoe in for first place in the "No Wall Category."

We made our way over to the PDXWAKE event out on Ross island and had a good time with all. Everyone got a chance to listen to the XM7 Hi-Definition speakers. We hooked up with the guys from Samson Sports in Camas Washington and put our 7's to the test. We auditioned them against several of the so called elite brands and can only say, our ears didn't lie!. More bass, more Hi-Def sound that makes you actually want to turn it up in the boat or out on the water boarding. These speakers really sound good. Not to mention LOUD! Exile Audio Install - Simpicity Sound San Jose CA

Check out this stealthy install from Bing at Simplicity In Sound out of California (www.simplicityinsound.com). This was his first install using a large amount of Exile gear and he was decent enough to share the pictures with us.

The Car is a 2001 Acura CL Type S and is intended to be a part time show car for his client. Bing's goals were to create a system that had good sound quality, aesthetically capture the feel of the subdued nature of the vehicle, and design it so it was stealthy and could be hidden out of view.

The Exile gear he included is as follows:
1 X300.2 sending 75W to a pair of tweeters
1 X1200.1 (running at 2 ohm) powering the 2 XT10 Subwoofers (which are enclosed in a 1cu.ft. sealed enclosure)
1 X600.4 bridged, sending 300W to each mid bass.

Bing says "Overall, I am quite pleased with the exile amps." He plans on doing some tuning and the car should be competitive at competitions soon. Bing said he liked the high stage of the amps, stating that they had a "well defined center with good depth", and "are pretty balanced, when it comes to tone, and have good mid bass and decent overall blending."

"Our idea behind the 'After Hours' theme was to create an environment that allows people to relax and socialize with other retailers in the industry," states Brian Kelsey of Exile. REMEMBERING A FALLEN HERO

This is a story about best friends, Dustin Overton and Jeffery Ammon, forever interrupted by the war. Before deployment in the United States Military, Dustin and Jeffery planned on rebuilding a 1978 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. After their first R&R, they returned to the Middle East: Dustin went back to Iraq, and Jeff resumed his duty in Afghanistan, where he was Killed in Action by a roadside bomb.

After returning from deployment, Dustin contacted a local car club to seek advice on rebuilding the Chevy Camaro. Dustin's intentions were straightforward, as he wanted to "finish what he and Jeffrey started together--to honor his fallen friend and the other fallen soldiers of the Pacific Northwest."

Making Dustin's and Jeffrey's original vision a reality is now underway. Gordon Aram of A-Team Racing, Bend, Oregon, states, "We are working with Dustin's father to do this project 'Overhaulin style'. Meaning Dustin doesn't have a clue what's going on and is completely out of the loop."

"When we first heard about this project, we where honored to support our troops. Our heart goes out to the families of every solider serving in our Military," said Brian Kelsey, President, Exile Audio. "This is simply an opportunity to give back and be part of something very special. This is about Americans helping Americans."

The Exile system consists of:

A 1200 watt mono block powering two SG12 500 watt woofers in a sealed enclosure. The front stage is powered by 600 watt four channel amplifier running two pairs of 5.25" XP components. 6 by 9 coaxial speakers are also installed in the rear deck of the vehicle. The custom installation was performed by the top notch crew of Sounds on Wheels, Bend Oregon.

The event was sponsored by Exile and was a huge success. Future Shop has been a large supporter of Exile for the last two years and has helped Exile become a brand with significant presence and market share in the Canadian market. With over 125 store fronts from coast to coast, Exile is available at any of the Future Shop locations. The staff has really embraced the Exile brand as their own, and see it as their go to amplifier and sub line. In a very short period of time, Exile has become one of their top 12 volt brands.

The staff of Future Shop was welcomed by Exile with dinner, drinks and some other treats. On hand were some massage therapists for those who needed it from a long journey to get to Hollywood, or they just wanted to indulge themselves. TEAM EXILE member Michael Montague fires up his car for the Sounds On Wheels SPL competition in Bend Oregon this weekend. Michael ended up taking second place with a single Shift 12…. Not too shabby with a final score of 132.8 dB. After a few tech tips he should be able to hit 135 dB at the next competition.

Michael some stickers and a shirt should be on its way.

Located in the coastal town of Side Oregon, the team of Crossover Audio has built a solid shop with from the ground up. Founded in 2006 by Bruce Bemisdarfer and his wife Jamie, they relocated to Seaside from farther North. Bruce spent many years working for other audio shops as lead installer before opting to go out on his own. “The location we selected is located in a high traffic part of town, “ says Bruce. “It’s important people know where you are even in a small town. If they can’t find us, they’ll never know the caliber of audio integration we can provide.”

This shop is definitely small but effective. The install bay will store up to 4 vehicles for custom work and they definitely get the job done when it comes to audio installation. Look for the guys at Crossover Audio to bring out their show truck this summer with lots of boom. When we visited them in April, the install was well underway! The truck will feature 5.1 surround and lots of exile power.

Portland, Oregon - November 2007 - Exile Audio® recognizes the top sales staff from Future Shop® Canada for outstanding performance of selling Exile Audio® equipment. The two lucky recipients each received a custom hand painted, one of a kind, Mike Lavallee limited edition Exile Amplifier, for their efforts.

Amp winners are Sylvester Johnson, who received the red edition, and Gary Zaparnuik, who received the green edition. "The entire Future Shop staff did an outstanding job of supporting Exile products this year. These two winners showed outstanding sales efforts and dedication to the Exile brand and deserve to be awarded with such elaborate, one of a kind items," says Sales Director of Exile, Brian Kelsey.

Mike Lavallee, known for developing the TrueFire™ painting technique, creating outrageous custom paint jobs at his shop in Washington called Killer Paint®. He is a regular on hit TV shows Monster Garage™ and Overhaulin'™ , and has worked exclusively with Exile Audio® in developing the custom painted amplifiers. Mike and Exile Audio® have collaborated in the past in creating the "Wicked One" Ford F150 which was showcased at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. "It only seemed natural to include Mike on the creation of these one of a kind masterpieces," says Brian Kelsey of Exile Audio.

It's a world filled with fire, heavy breathing dragons, and skulls seething from one firey perch to another. This world was not made up on a green screen at a Hollywood studio.It's the imaginary land Mike Lavallee sees when he fills his paint gun. The custom painter and originator of real-fire airbrushing, is well-known as a man who pays close attention to detail and creates life-like figures, both on fire and cooling off from the heat.

When it came time to build a showcase vehicle for his custom paint shop, Killer Paint,and a demo vehicle for Exile Audio, one look around the shop and his daily driver Lightning got the custom nod. The end result is a truck that makes jaws drop and ears pound.

Through his multiple appearances on "Overhaulin'," Mike was able to use his experience to rally the troops in Washington and in Canada. Why the necessity for a multi-country tag-team? It was simple: Mike had 60 days to transform the truck from a stock-white Lightning into a real show-stopper that could illustrate Killer Paint's ability and Exile Audio's sound quality. The clock had officially begun.

Talking via cellular phone, Mike and Exile Audio teamed up with Installation Station and Full Throttle Upholstery, both in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. The three shops would use two trucks, one as the actual to-be-painted F-150, the other as a donor truck that the audioand upholstery shops could use for measurements and fitments. This technique was theonly way this admirable task could be pulled off.

Mike and his crew at Killer Paint in Snohomish, Washington, needed time to get the right, so they recruited the help of a neighboring shop. A few ideas were being kicked around at Extreme Metal and Paint in Anacortes, Washington, as to how they could really make the bodywork stand out. Everyone agreed upon suiciding the doors and adding trick Studebaker hinges to the tailgate, which will enable it to swing sideways.Adding even more custom trickery to the mix, the guys at Extreme used linear actuators to raise and lower the tonneau cover and air to open the tailgate so it, too, opens automatically. Other cool mods include the addition of a T-Rex billet grille, a Good Hood, a smooth wiper cowl, smooth bed caps, and a Sir Michaels roll pan. It was now time for Mike and Rob Peffley to work their magic.

Inside of the Killer Paint spray booth, Rob custom mixed House of Kolor Orange with aEuro Red hue to get the pigment just right. After the base was cured, a trick and subtle fade was sprayed to the truck, and then Mike put his talent to work. Mike filled his airbrush gun with House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl, Sunset Pearl, and Sunrise Pearl for a color combination that explodes off of the orange base. Trigger by trigger, the airbrush created insanely real fire flames, menacing skulls, and even a scary skeleton creature emerging from the tailgate.Mike wasn't done with just the typical flame job, however. He stepped things up by airbrushing a realistic mural of his girlfriend, Nicole, on the underside of the tonneau cover. Resting on a bed of bones and fire, Nicole is surrounded by a monster who is on fire. Her only attempt to escape is to use her airbrushed wings and fly far away. Sticking with the enveloping fire theme, Mike airbrushed Nicole once again under the hood.Paul Iozzio custom built an engine cover to cover the entire underhood compartment.Then, Mike airbrushed Nicole's face resting on her hand as she endures a furnace of flames surrounded by fortunate skulls. Saying there is likeness to Nicole with her airbrushed counterpart is a huge understatement.

After the paint had time to cure, a phone call was made to Installation Station to see how they were doing. Meanwhile, across the border in Canada, the team at Installation Station were knee deep in fiberglass. Awesome fiberglass door panels were built to house a pair of Exile Audio 6-1/2-inch components, and of course, Mike painted those to match.Those mids and highs are powered by two Exile Audio 800.4 amps that were mounted into the bed. The bass is supplied by four 12-inch Exile Audio subs mounted in a blow-through box in the bed. Those low-frequency movers are pushed by a pair of Exile Audio2400.1 amps, which was also mounted in the bed. Iconnect wires and cables were used throughout and connect from the back of the JVC AVX-2 DVD head unit. More than 50yards of Dynamat was used to keep everything rattle free.

Matching all of the audio power is an interior that integrates into the Ford unlike any we've seen. Full Throttle Upholstery in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, used the donor F-150to create an interior out of tan leather, bone vinyl, and tan suede. Katzkin supplied all ofthe materials for the makeover consisting of covered door panels, the headliner, a leather-covered steering wheel, and reshaped Ford bucket seats that were covered in leather and suede. Full Throttle also customized the color-changed dash to accommodate the 9-1/2-inch LCD screen. To finish off the interior, a custom waterfall center console was built from wood that had been painted and wrapped to match. The console houses the JVC head unit, HVAC controls, and is accented with real spun aluminum spikes. Inside the bed, Full Throttle also treated the rear cargo area to the all leather-and-suede look,and it also used real spun aluminum spikes to accent the sub enclosure. Strips in the floor were painted with skulls and real fire and are split by aluminum. The bed is a true workof automotive art.

Finishing off the insane truck is a full Air Ride Technologies air-ride setup that allows the Lightning to sit low over the Foose Nitrous 20-inch wheels that are wrapped in Toyo tires. Baer rotors help the painted calipers slow the truck to a stop. Porsche Cayenne tips were customized to exit out the factory Lightning location and the supercharged 5.4L is equipped with a K&N filter and it sounds good, thanks to a Flowmaster muffler. A Power master high-amp alternator ensures the multiple batteries stay charged.

With a huge sigh of relief, the truck rolled into the Exile Audio booth at the SEMA Show and all parties were amazed at how well the truck came together. There is no chance of missing that bright-orange House of Kolor paint, and your ears cannot tune out the bass coming from the four 12-inch Exile subs. It was one truck, two countries, four shops, and one very far-reaching goal. Mission accomplished. As Mike calls it, this Ford really is a wiked one.

Tub Thumpin'

On a recent dealer trip to Canada we came across this beast. A little creation the guys at Stereo Connection in Ontario call "Tub Thumpin." There's a full size hot tub in the back, just in case you need more than your exile equipment thumpin' as you drive down the street. Check out the pics to see for yourself.

Exile Invades Europe!!

Exile Car Audio goes to Europe for the launch of the brand. Take a look at the photos as the crew pulls many late nights preparing demo vehicles for a proper showing. As you can imagine, the guys live, breath and die by high end audio over there. We sent our Engineer to get dirty with these guys and do things up Exile style.

Exile training in action: Over 50+ dealers came out for the initial launch of Exile at one of the several trainings held in England. This is the best of the best so we took them through a training to be remembered. These joined the Exile family of enthusiasts around the world... People that love to listen, feel and enjoy the power and performance of high end mobile audio.

How loud is this damn thing: Do not know for sure but we have a van that is running 154 db but we think the Exile demo car is louder. First time we fired it up with we ended up with anger phone calls from residence and local police who wanted to lynch us because of the noise. One of the residence had some ornaments knocked off the wall and we had to compensate her. We had a sad moment at the end of the evening at the 2nd show at the ACE CAFE we were playing it and the X5 amp went down but even at both shows people were very impressed with the power of the system. At one moment it looked like the vehicle moving sideways with the bass. By the way Kenwood was there with their demo cars and they were pretty upset because our vehicles dominated the show and they had to turn they systems off.

It's great to see the guys from Installation Station (Red Deer Alberta), on the set of Overhaulin during the build of - a ground up 5 day complete automotive makeover. This Chevy Nova was TOTALLY tricked out and the mobile audio portion was a world class installation. Now can we go for a ride or what?

Inked in Miami

The Installation Station crew heads down to Miami in the heat of August to the television set of Miami Ink. They worked with the shows host Ami to design him a custom Exile system worthy of his Barracuda. It was truly a first for the show... building a custom stereo in the middle of a shop that's doing tattoos. Stay tuned as this episode was just finished and has yet to air. We'll keep you posted.
